The latest collection interprets the most up-to-date dynamics of design and its applications, not only stylistic, in everyday life: a challenge that has inspired dreamy and multifunctional lines, between renowned designers and new talents.
Orografie is much more than a brand: created by Giorgia Bartolini, with the artistic direction of Vincenzo Castellana, the project manages to delve into everyday life in search of new rituals to be given shape through the production of truly original furnishings and accessories. Without limiting ourselves to redesigning and recoloring existing projects, but rather urging the designers involved to create something new starting from contemporary habits that did not exist before .
Centrino by Elena Salmistraro is also a project with an ancient name but a contemporary soul, since this table centerpiece, in wood and iron, offers the opportunity to share appetizers but also support for the telephone, perhaps when you are alone. A similar idea is that of Colombo designed by Standa which combines the pocket emptying function with the possibility of supporting incense sticks but also housing the mobile phone, for example to accompany meditative sounds to the released perfume. While Azz by Vincenzo Castellana is the cup or glass holder equipped with a smartphone holder, ideal for having a video chat while sipping coffee. Colombo by Standa.

UNDER 35 EXPERIENCED FOOD RITUALS AND SELFCARE The new rituals connected to food and self-care were the theme around which the under 35 were invited to design as part of the product design workshop hosted in the of the Edit Napoli fair last October. Misguardo is a dressing table set designed by Silvia dell’Orco which includes, in addition to the mirror, also space for the smartphone which has become a recurring accessory for the beauty routine. Pocopiano by Paolo Stefano Gentile is a ceramic plate from Caltagirone designed to enhance an ancient ritual that has today found new life: a hollow houses the oil, or a sauce, in which to dip the bread. The coffee table Eccentrico by Luca Pinotti is instead designed for work sessions at home, but also for eating on the sofa, freeing a “bad” habit and making it a better experience. Food rituals and selfcare were also the themes addressed in the workshop held in June 2023 at the School of Design of the Polytechnic of Milan, in which 5 designers emerged. We start with Giulio Codella and his Maleducato/Maleducata, cutlery holders with smartphone holders; followed by Omar Hannachi with Impianto, a tubular vase for aromatic plants with smartphone support; Marta Marino with Non Sedia, updated version of the old valet stand. Closing out are Giorgio Pagani with Non Tavolo, a deconstructed table for 4 diners, and Xu Zheng with Virgola, a bathroom dressing table with smartphone holder. orografie.comNon Sedia by Marta Marino.Impianto by Omar Hannachi.Virgola by Xu Zheng. On the cover, Non tavolo, design Giorgio Pagani – Photos Irene Tranchina.
