During days painted with the colors of spring and summer, cooking becomes even more enchanting, especially with the latest proposals specifically designed for outdoor cooking.
In the tranquility of a sunny courtyard or terrace, accompanied by the view of a well-tended garden, the chirping of robins, or the sound of cicadas, it’s possible to create a customized space (to one’s needs) where cooking transforms into an immersive experience, making every meal alone or with company memorable. Let’s explore the landscape of outdoor kitchens in 2024, filled with new proposals and innovative systems: versatile configurations, bespoke designs, and eco-friendly materials that invite outdoor living, preparing high-level lunches and dinners.
1 – STARGAZING COCKTAILS
Àtria is Abimis‘ first outdoor kitchen, equipped with a sink, professional-grade hob, teppanyaki or barbecue; a new configuration has been added during MDW24, ensuring all the functionalities needed for cocktail preparation. Àtria is highly customizable in configurations and colors of the chosen coordinated modular accessories. It is made of AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel and available in satin or hand-orbited finishes, or can be painted in all RAL colors.

3 – ECO-FRIENDLY MATERIAL
Aura by Arredo3, introduced during MDW24, is made entirely of eco-friendly materials, which become renewable at the end of the product’s life. It has a sustainable aluminum structure; the hob and single-bowl sink, with a cover, are made of stainless steel, while the thick top is offered in Laminam® Pietra Piasentina gray or flamed steel. The model features a gas fire with a single plate and a mixer that folds onto itself.

4 – NOMADIC AND SMART
Ethimo presents its kitchen project, created in collaboration with Gordon Guillaumier: Phil, with a “nomadic” and smart design that simplifies outdoor cooking. It consists of a single cylindrical metal base, available in Olive Green and Sepia Black. Defined by refined teak details, it offers three possible configurations: with a sink, with an induction hob, and with a barbecue. These ‘circular islands’ can coexist in their different functions.

5 – COOKING TOGETHER
During the Salone del Mobile, Fògher introduced a new concept of outdoor cooking: Nojara, a name that reflects the nuances of the Belluno dialect for walnut. In the construction and design process, the functional part, dedicated to cooking, and the convivial part, with a space specifically designed to welcome guests, were taken into consideration. The model combines functionality for cooking and conviviality for guests. It’s a blend of functionality and sociability that characterizes the philosophy developed by the Raveane brothers and the De Rigo-Platini spouses.

6 – CUTTING-EDGE BBQ
The Wolf barbecues by Frigo2000 are available in different widths (76, 91, 107, and 137 cm) to fit various outdoor kitchen dimensions, all powered by natural gas or liquid gas. Modules in stainless steel with burners, both built-in and free-standing, are available alongside the barbecues. The illuminated red knobs with LED lights make it easy to use the controls even in suboptimal lighting conditions. The grill shelves, however, have three different settings and the handles are positioned away from the heat source, thus avoiding any burns when used.

It features clean and smooth surfaces, devoid of angles, for improved cleaning and easy maintenance. Available in two types of gres and two finishes in iroko wood for doors. The modular aluminum structure is always black. It also includes a Gas Barbecue and the option to add multiple integrated burners with Wok support. It also allows for adding a bar counter.

8 – OUTDOOR ELEGANCE
In the outdoor kitchen Project 05 by Modulnova, the dynamic mix of volumes and colors seems to reflect the play of light and shadows in the surrounding space. At its core is the Block Island, in Absolute Black granite with Millerighe finish, and the Mediterraneo worktop in Graphite Raw stone with a 20 cm thickness, integrated sink, and stainless steel AISI316 hob. The Block Island includes two compartments: one for aromatic plants and another customizable space, which can be enhanced with a wooden cutting board. The system is completed by the Sipario cupboard, available in various modularities.

Oreste by Palazzetti is an innovative cooking system where a single flame heats the plate and oven. The functional work station includes a lava stone cooking plate, a wood-fired oven, two practical worktops, and a compartment for loading wood and lighting the fire. The outgoing fumes are channeled to completely wrap the oven, reaching a temperature of around 250°C in 25/40 minutes. Oreste is also designed for direct flame cooking for bread and pizza.
