From 16 to 21 April at Fiera Milano Rho all the best of the design of the future: the countdown for the new edition has begun, between latest news, big names returning and celebrations of special anniversaries.
This year, the Salone del Mobile.Milano celebrates 62 years of activity, with a rich program of events, installations, big names in design, and special guests. At the press conference held at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano under the direction of Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, the new guiding themes that will animate all the fair proposals emerged: evolution and innovation. The event’s leitmotif is “Where Design Evolves”, encapsulating its essence: “a stage where design happens, evolves, and defines the future”.

This is not a simple “fair” – a truly reductive term to describe it – but an event that has become a truly inclusive and value-rich basin, capable of weaving relationships and generating narratives in the world of planning. At the same time forming a new ecosystem that is always on the move, open to design and creativity, capable of offering and connecting multiple visions.

2024 EDITION
From April 16th to 21st, 2024, the new edition will take place in the pavilions of Fiera Milano Rho, not only showcasing all that is new and beautiful to discover on an international stage but doing so with a “out of the box,” new, and challenging approach. The first major innovation: thanks to contributions from neuroscience, a redistribution of the pavilions has been created with the goal of grouping exhibitors by content and target audience, in order to amplify the value and sense of the visit experience.

EXHIBITORS AND NEWS
The number of exhibitors will include more than 1900 names, of which 600 are young talents under 35 and 22 design schools; the pavilions will be dedicated to the International Furniture Fair, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0, S.Project, and the SaloneSatellite. For the 2024 edition, there will also be EuroCucina with the side event FTK-Technology For the Kitchen (pavilions 2 and 4) and the International Bathroom Exhibition (pavilions 6 and 10), located in the center of the fairgrounds.

SALONE SATELLITE
The SaloneSatellite (pavilions 5 and 7) will celebrate its 25th edition with the theme “Connecting Design since 1998,” and alongside it, there will be an exhibition at the Triennale, whose exhibition project will be curated by Beppe Finessi and set up by Ricado Bello Dias.

MUST-SEE
Three major installations will enrich the offering. The first is called “Interiors by David Lynch. A Thinking Room” (pavilions 5 and 7) and will feature two mirror rooms, imagined by the director as symbolic doors to cross to immerse oneself in the event. The second, “Under the Surface” designed by Accurat, Design Group Italia, and Emiliano Ponzi (pavilion 10), will explore the ethics, sustainability, and technology surrounding the world of water with a submerged island, triggering visual and evocative narratives. At the heart of EuroCucina, a large stage will host six international food magazines, which, together with artists, designers, and chefs, will present an unprecedented and original version on the present and future of the ingredients nature offers us.

Completing the event, a rich program of talks and roundtables titled “Drafting Futures. Conversations about Next Perspectives,” curated by Annalisa Rosso. They will take place in the Arena designed by Formafantasma, covered with carpet printed with abstract designs and furnished by recovering seats from the previous edition,

And reaffirming the ethical soul of the entire Salone, attentive to the environmental, economic, and social responsibility of the fair, for the second year it can boast its ISO 20121 certification: design is even more beautiful when it also has a green soul.
